BATTLE OF THE BEST IN VCT!

BATTLE OF THE BEST IN VCT!

BATTLE OF THE BEST IS NEXT!

A win so nice, we all knew that the NRG VALORANT team had to do it twice. This past weekend was another day in the office for the squad, with a 2-0 result against FURIA shooting us up the standings to the top of the VCT.

The squad of Demon1, Ethan, Marved, Victor and crashies had another Sunday night showdown against a Brazilian side taking on the likes of FURIA, who have struggled to open their campaign.

Righting our wrongs from matches previous on Split was a massive confidence boost for the team starting on Map 1. After dropping the opening pistol round and eco, NRG rallied and responded in kind with a ridiculous 13-straight round wins to put the VCT on notice. It was the dangerous duelist Demon1 who led the team in kills with 17, with each member of the team taking turns assisting each other in team fights to secure the rout.

Keeping that same energy on Map 2 Breeze, NRG closed out the series by going on another long stretch of round wins, claiming seven-straight rounds en-route to a 13-8 scoreline to secure the easy 2-0 sweep. It was the Cypher play from the well-rounded Victor who proved to be a massive difference maker, racking up 24 kills and series MVP honors along the way.

Next up for the team is a major matchup against the best that the Omega Group has to offer, Leviatan. Our Chilean friends are led by the ever potent duelist aspas, who we remember well from his days on LOUD. Standing at the top of the table right now at 2-0 with the best round differential, we will be getting everyone’s best shot and it’s on us to respond!

NRG versus Leviatan is set for the same time as last week, Sunday with a 5 PM PT start time on the VCT Americas Twitch. We need your support now more than ever, some tune in, rep the NRG bundle and spam that NRG emote in chat!

NEW LOOK NRG ROCKET LEAGUE

NRG ROCKET LEAGUE IS READY TO RETURN! After a break from the RLCS circuit, NRG is back with a new lineup that we are excited to share with you.

Joining the pair of GarrettG and Mist to round out our squad for Split 2 is Aqua! Previously on The Muffin Men with our legend SquishyMuffinz, Aqua is a young, up-and-coming talent who is motivated to shine on the biggest stage for us. Check out Aqua’s announcement video by clicking here! The team was recently in LA for a very exciting Panda Express Content Bootcamp, so be on the lookout for new videos soon!

While the previous splits for the team have been disappointing, we know our core talent has what it takes to make LAN. With the competition level as close as ever before, it’s any given weekend to show up and make a statement with an #NRGWIN.

With the new split, all of the points reset for the upcoming Major 2 qualification cycle. The path to major Major 2 remains the same, with three qualifiers spread across the next six weekends to earn enough points to be one of four teams from NA to represent our region. RLCS Major 2 is headed to London this year, with action set to begin at the historic Copper Box Arena on June 20-23.

NRG Mission Control is LIVE for a first look at the new team on Sunday, April 21st at 5 PM PT. Be sure to tune in on the NRG Twitch Channel or the NRG Rocket League YouTube account for your chance to watch NRG RL go back to work on the pitch.

ONE WEEK LEFT TO ENTER!

Another week of ESL Challenger League play is in the books, and the squad is continuing to look stronger and stronger!

It’s been a terrific couple of weeks both in practice and official server play, as NRG CS2 climbs to the top of the ECL standings. This week, NRG was able to secure a 3-1 week in the ECL, moving their season record to an outstanding 9-3 mark.

Opening the week against Carpe Diem, NRG were able to make quick work of their opponent on Ancient, with the fragger HexT securing a team-leading 17 kills en-route to a 13-3 drubbing. Continuing to build our map pool, NRG decided to play Nuke for Map 2, with the new IRL Walco stepping up in a big way, racking up 23 kills with a 13-6 scoreline to secure the combo of map wins.

Against BOSS, the team encountered their first roadblock of the week in a return to Ancient, unable to overcome a tough defensive first-round which featured an early eco-round victory by the opposition and an eventual 13-8 loss.

Next up for the team is continued ECL action along with open qualifiers for the newly minted Esports World Cup! More information on upcoming matches can be found as always by staying tapped into the NRG Current Twitter!

NRG CS ON A ROLL!

NRG CS2 is continuing to push further into form, with another strong showing in ESL Challenger League play.

Taking on a team that has been strong in their own right against Mythic on Monday, NRG were able to earn a 2-0 sweep that moveses them into second place in the ECL standings!

Opening the series on Overpass, a very convincing defensive half resulted in a massive 10-2 advantage for the team of Autimatic, Brehze, oSee, HexT and Walco. A final pair of successful attack rounds closed out the first map with a 13-5 result, with Brehze earning the lobby leading 21 kills as the top fragger.

Defense was the name of the game in Map 2 Nuke as well, with a commanding 9-3 first half placing NRG in the driver’s seat from the jump. A final 1v2 clutch was too easy for Brehze, securing the sweep and leaping into a podium position on the table. HexT’s fragging abilities continued to be on display on Nuke, leading the team with 21 kills and a series-leading 1.83 rating.

A top-2 spot in the ECL standings is a huge mark for the team to hold on to throughout the final weeks of the season. If NRG CS2 can stay inside the top-2 in the standings, the team would receive a bye into the Upper Bracket Semifinals of the ECL Playoffs, which determine who qualifies for the ESL Pro League. As always, stay tuned into the NRG Current Twitter for all the updates the Fam needs.
