NRG VALORANT brought the house down in São Paulo with the most memorable matchup of VCT LOCK//IN and one of the greatest matches in competitive Valorant history! After taking down Giants in 2-1 fashion off an incredible performance by the insane initiator Crashies, NRG VALORANT took on the hometown team, LOUD, to qualify out of the Alpha Bracket. After a tough fought map loss on Split, the team led by Coach Chet and IGL FiNESSE stayed calm, cool and collected to deliver a convincing map victory on Pearl and send the series to the deciding Fracture.

After a series of close rounds and FIVE heart attack inducing overtimes, it was the Brazilian side who came out with the victory in what is now the 8th most viewed VALORANT series of all time with 852,000+ peak VIEWERS. NRG faced down a raucous and hostile crowd literally from the moment they stepped off the bus, and we couldn’t be more proud of their performance and composure. Next up for the team is the VCT Americas League which begins in late March! Full details are soon to come.

NRG Rocket League returned to the pitch once again for the RLCS Winter Cup Main Event, taking on some of the top teams in North America en-route to a top-12 finish. The trio of GarrettG, JSTN and Squishy took on M80, Rebellion and FaZe in the Group Stage, finishing with a 1-2 record. NRG Rocket League is still in the hunt for the March 3-5th Winter Major needing a top 4 finish to punch their ticket to sunny San Diego, California.

It's the end of an era, but the beginning of another.

This week we bade farewell to the final remaining member of our original back-to-back championship roster, Minki "Viol2t" Park.

Viol2t first joined us in 2018, and quickly became a cornerstone of the Shock. Since his first debut on the Overwatch League stage, he cemented his position as one of the greatest support players of all time with his aggressive play-style and consistently high stats. From joining us as a rookie, to becoming a veteran leading his own squad of rookies all the way to the Grand Finals stage last year, Viol2t's Hall of Fame career has been nothing short of incredible. We wish him all the best as he embarks on the next part of his journey with the Houston Outlaws.

From endings, however, come new beginnings. Now is the time to begin the newest chapter of Shock history, as we head into the 2023 season with our Prope- led roster. Keep your eyes on Shock this year, as we've got unfinished business, and we're coming for that trophy.
