In their biggest statement of the season, NRG VALORANT took home their fourth-straight victory of the VCT season, taking down the undefeated LOUD in surgical 2-0 fashion! In yet another classic match against the two of the most talented teams in the world, NRG jumped out to a quick lead on Map 1 Split with round-after-round of flawless attack executes led by IGL FiNESSE. After a 13-5 blow-out opening map win, the squad carried momentum over to Split where they won 13-9 and handed LOUD their first loss of the season. Match MVP Victor (who else?) led the way with 47 kills across the two maps, with Ardiis contributing a team-leading 27 assists! Next up is our regular season finale against EG on May 18th at 3 PM PST! Playoff seedings are on the line, so let’s see #NRGWIN in the chat fam.
The San Francisco Shock were back in action last weekend following a bye week. The Shock boys are still looking a little shaky, unfortunately going down to the Washington Justice, and having a rough showing in the first two maps of our second match against NYXL. Thankfully though, the squad rallied after a tense map two, and banded together to pull off the big reverse sweep, closing out our week 1-1. This rookie team is hard at work to develop their synergy and shake off nerves going into our upcoming matches this week against the Houston Outlaws and LA Valiant. Make sure to tune in and support the boys!
Phew! What a weekend for NRG Rocket League as the squad was in action for Sunday’s Open Qualifier LIVE on NRG Mission Control (which held an average of over 7,000 viewers for many, many, many hours!) for the LONGEST day in NRG Rocket League history as GarrettG, JSTN and Squishy battled their way through the field over the course of 20+ games, BOOKING their ticket to Friday’s Regional! That’s right - 20+ games in one day! That’s a lot of Rocket League.
