NRG VALORANT IS GOING TO TOKYO! It was a lower bracket run that proved to be the buff our team needed to reach the Grand Finals of the inaugural VCT Americas League. Defeating FURIA in swift 2-0 fashion, the team led by in-game leader FiNESSE turned its attention to Cloud9 for the last spot in the international Masters event. Despite falling down early in the series 0-1, NRG bounced back to take the final two maps and punch their tickets to Japan! Crashies led the way once again with 59 kills across the series, with s0m adding 27 assists.

Next up was a chance to exact revenge on evil, and NRG did just that, defeating Evil Geniuses by an efficient 3-1 scoreline. With N-R-G chants ringing out through Riot Games Arena, Victor led the way with 72 kills and 28 assists across four unique agents selected, with ardiis contributing 68 kills on his duelist Jett. With a spot secured in the grand finals, it was time for the El Clasico rematch with who else but LOUD! In the battle of heavyweights, it was LOUD who landed the punches for a painfully close 0-3 loss. Our first VCT regular season was incredibly exciting. We brought the NRG, locked down the spot in Tokyo and won over a legion of fans! Masters Tokyo starts on June 11, with opponents and broadcast times TBD. There are going to be some late nights for the #NRGFAM for this tournament, but we promise it will be worth it.

This past week, the San Francisco Shock announced one of the most innovative sponsorship deals in esports: partnering with the prestigious University of Art Academy. The Shock are now officially based in their home city of San Francisco, and this collaboration with the Academy means future live events, more local community activations, and a brand-new state-of-the-art facility for the team to play out of. We are super excited to show Shock fans what this partnership will bring!

Competitively, Shock had a difficult weekend, going 0-2 in matches as the team continued to try to find their footing. The squad will be participating in the knock-out stages of Midseason Madness this weekend in order to try to clinch one of the two remaining spots that would qualify us to attend the upcoming LAN in Korea.
