You read that correctly folks. For the first time in a long time, a team hailing from North America has reached the Knockout Stage for arguably the biggest World Championship that esports has to offer. NRG will roll into Busan, South Korea as the ONLY Western team left among the elite 8! Carrying the hopes of North America, we have the chance to bring the region back to prominence with one signature win!

It wasn't easy getting here. Our journey started with a 1-0 thrashing at the hands of Weibo Gaming out of China. The performance fed the narrative that North America would be overmatched and outclassed once again at Worlds. But apparently, our boys didn't get the message. NRG came out swinging in our next match and dashed any hype around fellow NA org Liquid with a decisive 1-0 victory. Momentum really started to turn when the written-off team then put Europe on notice with a thrilling back-and-forth victory over Mad Lions. And the icing on the cake? ... an absolute dismantling of Europe's #1 seed G2 in swift 2-0 fashion. All of a sudden all NA fans are NRG fans. And they are asking one question: Why Not US?

The team of Contractz, Dhokla, Palafox, Ignar and FBI have just arrived in Busan, South Korea for a rematch against Weibo Gaming, but this time in a Best of 5 where it is win and move on to the semis, lose and go home. We know that this matchup is going to be very difficult. We know that the casters and critics will not pick us to win. We know there are those who say it is a fluke that NRG has made it this far (in their first year in the league nonetheless). To all those folks we just ask... Why Not US? Hey, what exactly is stopping us from doing the impossible?
