CHAMPIONS EDITION

PLAYOFFS SECURED Reading CHAMPIONS EDITION 3 minutes

Many were quick to think that NRG RL was going to be de-throned as the top dogs in NA, but the rumors of our demise were greatly exaggerated. NRG ARE YOUR RLCS RALEIGH NA OPEN 4 CHAMPIONS! 🏆

Following a disappointing 3rd / 4th finish at the Birmingham Major, the team entered the 4th regional of the season looking to bounce back. After a shaky start to bracket play, and a 4-1 loss to former NRG legend, jstn, and his new squad at Gen.G, NRG dropped down to the lower bracket. Casters and community members started to ask the question: Is NRG’s time on top coming to an end?

Daniel, Beastmode, Atomic and coach Satthew quickly ended that narrative on championship Sunday with one of the most dominant performances we’ve seen. After a 4-3 win over Ultimates in the quarterfinals, NRG swept both complexity and Gen.G 4-0 in the semifinal and finals of the tournament. The games were not close. There is no question that NRG is the best that North American Rocket League has to offer.

The new NRG Apex team will be making its debut in New Orleans this week/weekend! Already underway, the ALGS Open hosted at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is the largest Apex Legends event ever! 160 teams of 3 will enter the server, and the field will be narrowed down to just 20 teams for Sunday’s grand final lobby.

The NRG team has already made it through the first two rounds of play, finishing 2nd and then 5th in their round 1 and 2 lobbies. Action continues all Friday and into the weekend as the boys and coach Winnie look to start the season off strong.

No rest for the CS squad the next two months. The gauntlet kicks off this weekend with another NA Revival Series Cup, a tourney that NRG won 3 times back in 2024. After the revival series, the team will compete in the ECL playoffs, where there will be some good prize money up for grabs, and a coveted LAN qualification for ESL Pro League. The team will also play in an online Thunderpick event, before heading to Texas to compete in IEM Dallas, where we will be the lone North American representatives at the tournament. After Dallas, the team will begin preparing for the main event, the Austin CS2 Major, which kicks off on June 2nd!

May and June will be a culmination of all the hard work the team has put in so far this year. We’re hoping to make some noise and show the international CS community that NA and NRG is for real.
