This past weekend NRG Rocket League was in Raleigh, North Carolina for the second RLCS Major of the season. Coming in as one of the tourney favorites, NRG started off strong winning its first two swiss matches vs. former NRG star, jstn and Gen.G, followed by a swift defeat of the French squad, Gentlemates.
In round three of Swiss, NRG lost to French super team and NRG nemesis, Vitality, dropping the boys to the round 4 high match of the swiss bracket. Round 4 was a matchup vs. a dangerous MENA squad in Twisted Minds. NRG started out slow, going down 1-2, but managed to turn things around in the back half of the series to qualify for the playoffs!
With a spot in the upper bracket of the playoffs, NRG faced off once again vs. Team Vitality. Unfortunately the French squad had our number this weekend, sending NRG to the lower bracket for a re-match with Twisted Minds who had just pulled off a massive upset over tournament favorites, eliminating Karmine Corp.
With the US crowd fully behind us, the squad pulled off a miraculous come-from-behind win vs. Twisted Minds, rattling off three straight victories to close out the series in a game 7 overtime thriller that sent the Lenovo Center to its feet chanting N-R-G, N-R-G!.
It felt like we were the team of destiny after the victory vs. TM, but unfortunately the rally was cut short in the semifinals of the tournament. NRG fell to the eventual champions, Team Falcons. The series was oh-so-close, with 5 of 6 games being decided by 1 goal, but ultimately didn’t go our way. NRG finished in 3/4th place at the Raleigh Major. We’ll look to come back stronger at the Esports World Cup and then RLCS Worlds!

We’ve been super busy this summer, and the latest shoot proves it. The team just wrapped an epic late-night session at an IKEA store as part of a brand-new partnership. Filming inside the store was surreal — a few fans even spotted us mid-shoot and stuck around to watch it all go down. Big shoutout to everyone who came through.
Big Collab Drop Incoming – Keep your eyes on the feed this week: Our collaboration with the Highland Bros is about to drop. Shot in New York a few weeks back, this one captures both squads at their chaotic best. It’s the start of a big wave of collabs we’re lining up this summer — and trust us, you’re not ready.
Both NRG VALORANT and Apex Legends are heading to Poland this week to prepare for their respective Esports World Cup tournaments. The teams will spend time practicing and acclimating to the timezone before flying to Riyadh in early July. Stay tuned for updates from both squads at the bootcamp. We have some fun content in the works!
This week the NRG Spectrum Castle becomes a true cultural convergence point in DTLA as hundreds of thousands of fans hit Anime Expo. Storm the Castle kicks off with two unique events. On July 3rd we’re partnering with one of the year’s most viral artists, BBno$, to host a massive fan party and cosplay contest that fuses anime energy with our gaming community. On July 5th we’re teaming up with hip hop veteran Kyle to launch Nani, a one-of-a-kind cultural exchange blending Black gaming culture, urban nightlife, and anime vibes under one roof. Big community, big crossover, all happening inside the Castle.
